Seattle Auto Show 2010 - 001

The annual Seattle Auto Show took place as it always does in the month of November. The weather was wet, but thankfully, the entire exhibit was indoors, save for a Tesla Roadster sitting under a canopy near the box office.

The auto show takes place in the events center of Quest Field, a new football stadium for the Seattle Seahawks; it sits right across the road northward from Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners.

Unlike a few years ago, the economy sure changed things around. The auto show this year, and last year, were much smaller than usual. Only the main floor of the events center had cars. There is an extended wing from the events center that usually held even more cars, but with financial situations, many automotive companies either slimmed down their exhibits, or just skipped the show altogether. But, there was still plenty to see.

Unlike last year, the 2010 show had much more people than usual on Sunday. It was very difficult to get good photographs because many people huddled around the cars, and then the camera I used was rather unusual (as if it was already zoomed in, so I had to stand quite far back to take pictures). I managed to take about one hundred photos, but I have selected only a few of them for my gallery based on the best quality. Unfortunately, much of the pictures of European and Asian car photos were bad in quality because I had to deal with the big crowds! And, they were all parked very close to each other. I wish more pictures were better in quality since the ones I have uploaded are mostly American cars.

Seeing the vehicles in person is truly a great experience because they come to life much more compared to looking at them in photographs. I advise everyone to take a look at a car in person if they ever go car shopping, because your initial judgement of a particular car may be the direct opposite when you see them in person!
